CROSSFIT GROUP CLASSES

Empower group classes are led by qualified CrossFit coaches.  Our experienced and passionate team specializes in adapting the training to accommodate your specific needs so that you can safely reach and exceed your fitness goals and have a blast along the way.

Our strength and conditioning program is comprised of constantly varied, functional movement performed at high intensity.  Workouts include an ever-changing combination of body weight and free weight movements.

Classes are capped at 12 members per session to ensure optimal coaching attention and adequate space to move.  In a class of 12 you may see 12 versions of the same workout as we adapt it to accommodate your individual fitness needs.

Group Class Structure:

  1. You will begin with a coach-led warm up
  2. Together we will review and practice correct movement mechanics for the day’s work out.  During this time coaches will help you determine the loading, volume and intensity appropriate to your fitness and experience level.
  3. Together we will complete the programmed workout of the day
  4. The coach will lead you through a cool down

Group classes are appropriate for experienced CrossFitters or members who have completed the Empower Beginner Curriculum through Personal Training or Beginner Group Classes.  We offer group classes 7 days a week. You can view our online schedule to see our wide selection of class times.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Personal Training is a great way to learn the fundamental CrossFit movements and develop a base of strength and conditioning before you transition into regular CrossFit group classes.

Experienced CrossFit members may also use Personal Training as an opportunity to get the 1-on-1 coaching attention required to refine specific skills.

BEGINNER GROUP CLASSES

You’re looking to get started with CrossFit but Personal Training is not your style or doesn’t fit your budget.  We offer 2 Beginner Group classes each month at prescheduled times. In these classes we will cover the Empower Beginner Curriculum required to integrate safely into regular group classes while also developing a solid base of strength and conditioning.

TEEN and KIDFIT PROGRAMS

Looking to instill a lifelong love of movement in your kids?  Need to develop the athletic strength, speed, power, agility, coordination, accuracy, balance and conditioning required to make the team or excel in youth sports?  The KidFit programming tailors the effective CrossFit training methodology to the needs of kids and teens.

OPEN GYM

Catch up on a workout you missed, work on skills or just come in to do your own thing, Empower offers Open Gym times for members 7 days per week.

Because we believe in safety, there is always a coach on duty during Open Gym times.

SPECIALTY CLASSES

At Empower we love fitness and we love to play!  Many of our coaches offer specialty courses for athletes who want a bit of specialization.  From our Cardio based Athletics Program to running to gymnastics to Strong Man training, we have many fun programs to help you mix it up.

There is an additional charge for specialty classes.

EXPERTS CLINICS

CrossFit programming draws from diverse athletic disciplines.  Because we are committed to excellence, Empower regularly hosts clinics by sports experts like two-time Olympic Rower Will Dean, professional Gymnastics Coach Jennifer Dober, certified Starting Strength Coach Craig Bearss and BC Weightlifting Association president Mike Cartwright.

There is an additional charge for all expert-led coaching clinics.
